Rank schools by feel, not just numbers
Most college ranking tools tell you which schools are "best" based on prestige or test scores. CollegeFit is different — it helps you find the school that's right for you, based on what you actually care about.
1You define your priorities
Take our survey to tell us what matters most to you — academic rigor, location, cost, campus size, or specific programs. You can also weight each category yourself in the My Rankings tab.
2AI scores each school for you
Our AI compares your profile against each school's real data — acceptance rates, tuition, SAT averages, program offerings, and location — and generates a 0–100 fit score across five dimensions.
3You add your own research
For each saved school, open the My Rankings spreadsheet to add your own notes (e.g. "10% crime rate") and rate each category 1–10 based on your research. Your ratings feed directly into the fit score.
4Compare schools your way
View your saved schools in a grid or list, sorted by your personalized fit score. The school with the highest score isn't necessarily the most prestigious — it's the one that fits you best.
How the fit score is calculated
The overall fit score is a weighted average of five dimensions: Academic Fit (how well your GPA/test scores align with the school's profile), Location Fit (proximity to your preferred region and setting), Cost Fit (tuition vs. your stated budget), Program Fit (availability of your intended major), and Size Fit (enrollment vs. your campus size preference). Each dimension is scored 0–100 by our AI, then blended using the weights you set in My Rankings.
